“VFX Guru, storyteller, Millennial.”
Victor is a multidisciplinary professional: in addition to being a recognized master of digital compositing, he is in fact a certified NukeX Master Trainer, director, producer, photographer and screenwriter.
He has always had strong ties to Italy, having studied at the International Academy of Image Arts and Science in L’Aquila, a school founded by Maestro Vittorio Storaro. After the dramatic earthquake that upset the city of Abruzzo in 2009, he left for a while, deciding to move to London but remaining deeply linked to Abruzzo.
There he completed his training in VFX at the famous Escape Studios and in the world of Cinema, they immediately had their eye on him: with fifteen years of experience in cinema, Victor has worked on films such as “127 Hours”, “The Dark Knight Rises”, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, “The Bourne Legacy”, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, most recently “The Invisible Boy 2” by Gabriele Salvatores.
The excellent mastery of Nuke earned him the official trainer certification: over the years he has held master classes at Pixar Animation Studios, The Animation Workshops and Escape Studios itself.
Victor is a member of the Visual Effects Society and works regularly with Nukepedia, the online community dedicated to Nuke.
The short film “Another Love”, which he produced and directed in 2015, has been featured in festivals and received awards all over the world. In 2017 Victor returns to the control room with “ECHO”.
Despite an undoubtedly weighty resume, Victor Perez is so humble that when we asked him what his favorite movie was, he mentioned one of the few masterpieces which he didn’t work on: “Inception!”
